Cyclograph

Description of method

  1. Capture a 360° movie of the object by either rotating the camera around the object or rotating the object on a rotary table
  2. Create strip images by taking the same column from every frame and mosaicing them (equivalent to y-theta slice of x-y-theta volume)
  3. Run stereo algorithm on two such images corresponding to two columns same distance from the center
  4. Reconstruct 3D structure using the disparities calculated by stereo (more explanation)
